We have this dish in Romania, too, though we also add chopped onions and sometimes paprika or tomato sauce into the filling. And we might use vine leaves instead of cabbage leaves, though cabbage is the winning choice.

Served with polenta, sour cream, and pickled hot peppers, these are always a hit at Christmas time, throughout the cold season, or at... weddings :)
