That sounds insane! In the name of "healthy competition and capitalism", we end up doing the craziest things. After all, collecting municipal solid waste has to do with keeping the streets clean and maintaining public health. It makes sense to take care of it in a centralized manner rather than privatizing it and overwhelming people with options that end up doing more harm than good in the long run :(
