There are quite a few options to choose from. Some have a more general utility (compatible with multiple browsers, operating systems, and even different types of devices), while others are niched down. I would say something along the line of AdGuard or AdBlock Plus as ad blockers, NoScript for Firefox or ScriptSafe for Chrome as script blockers, or BeyondTrust or Kaspersky Whitelist as whitelisting software.
