Oh, it looks like I've jumped straight over these emotions. As I was reading the lines above, I couldn't help but wonder why didn't I feel all of it? Why did I feel the opposite of excitement the night I brought my son home? Perhaps it was a rocky start, with us spending 5 days in the hospital and the severe jaundice that made me seriously question if I could feed and keep my sleepy baby alive, or something else... I don't know, but I'm glad I get to read about other moms' viewpoints on the lows of first-time parenting. Because the highs... everybody is talking about them, but the lows are something many of us feel ashamed to speak of :(
