Oh, I try to do that in my everyday parenting efforts, too :D When my toddler pushes all my buttons with all his fingers at once, I start envisioning 50 ways to... something, anything that helps me surrender to the Now rather than fight it tooth and nails :) Come to think, raising cats feels so similar to raising human beings :D
