I've been thinking about self-regulation while reading the entire above.
It seems to me like one of the biggest missing pieces of the puzzle when it comes to people who struggle coping with their emotions.
I can't say I'm emotionally unstable myself, but like all people, I struggle with my emotions at times.
And I've learned there's so much self-work I need to do in order to surf these waves a little easier.
Self-regulation is where I decided to start from.
