I would say that bright children are more likely to overpush themselves and so, having their parents' support for setting SMART goals should help them do it in a healthy way.

I particularly appreciated the suggestions of anticipating what could prevent them from reaching their goals and the encouragement for the parents to celebrate all achievements, even if they don't equal the goal accomplishment.
