My paternal grandparent was far from anyone's definition of a "perfect" grandpa. Lots of people had things to complain about him. Still, I recall one day one of my cousins, whose other grandparent was deceased, harshly stopped a family conversation. He told everyone he doesn't care what they say, he is his only grandparent, and he's happy to have him, regardless of his shortcomings...
