"Finally, don’t wait until you need it or become desperate before you ask for a raise. Most people wait till when they need more money before asking for a salary increase. The right approach is to establish your worth to your organization, in terms of your contribution to the company, then show that as proof that you deserve your raise." Very well said! If I may add, it can't hurt to have a talk with your superior a couple of months before the date you intend to ask for a raise and suggest some milestones you intend to reach, asking for his confirmation of a raise once you get there. It can't hurt to show your boss that you're proactive and highly motivated to bring a measurable contribution to the team!
