Absolutely. Children feel our inner tensions, and when we tell them there's nothing to worry about but we freak out inside, it will only confuse them and make them doubt us even more. Honesty is the best policy, provided that, as you say below, we adjust our message to the children's age and level of understanding. It is incredibly hard for everyone, talking to children about war when us adults have big feelings about it makes it even more complicated...
